What is the structure of the American Association of State and Local Agency Employees (AASLSE)?
The American Association of State and Local Agency Employees (AASLSE) is a labor union representing employees of state and local government agencies. AASLSE is headquartered in Washington, DC and has branch offices in each state.
The AASLSE is governed by an executive council, consisting of the chief executive officer, the assistant executive officers, and six councilors. The executive council meets regularly to review the organization’s policies and procedures, make revisions, and approve executive actions.
AASLSE’s board of directors is responsible for guiding the organization’s activities and making decisions on policy matters. The board meets at least once per year to elect officers and otherwise carry out its duties.
The president of AASLSE is elected by the members every four years. The current president is John K. O’Connor, Jr.
The treasurer is responsible for keeping financial records and overseeing day-to-day operations of AASLSE. The treasurer must have a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent, and must have completed two years of college.

3) live in one of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin or Wyoming

How does one become a member of AASLSE?
AASLSE is a labor union that represents state, local, and federal government employees. To become a member of AASLSE, you must first be a member of the National Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (NFSE). To become a member of AASLSE, you must complete a membership application, which can be found on the AASLSE website. Once your application is approved, you will be eligible to join AASLSE.
